Cuan Mhuire is the Nation’s Home for Recovery from Addiction.
We have been proudly supporting and restoring hope to those suffering from addiction since 1966. To ensure we are able to maintain and improve our Treatment Facilities and to retain, train and recruit our highly specialised Services Team that run the Cuan Mhuire Programme, across the country, Cuan Mhuire needs continued support, from a broad range of sources.
Tax Effective Giving for Individuals
If you have donated over €250 to Cuan Mhuire in a calendar year then you can give us permission to claim up to 45% of your total donation amount from Revenue. This turns an annual donation of €250 into a total donation of €362 – at no extra cost to you!
To ensure your gift is given tax effectively, please complete the attached CHY3 Form to us so we can make the claim from Revenue.
The CHY3 form is an Enduring Certificate which means you will only need to sign once and it lasts for five years. The CHY4 form, which is an Annual Certificate for the reclamation of tax on donations made is available here
Further details on this scheme are available from Revenue.
Corporates can receive Tax Relief on their donations of €250 or more in a given year. This relief is claimed as a deduction for any monetary donation similar to a trading expense.
Once a donation is received, Cuan Mhuire will send a receipt along with a thank you.
Businesses can claim a deduction for the donation as if it were a trading expense. Assuming that the company pays corporation tax at 12.5% their corporation tax bill is then reduced by €250×12.5% = €31.
To qualify for the tax relief a donation must satisfy a number of criteria, including:
It must be in the form of money.
It must not be repayable.
It must not confer any benefit on the donor, or any person connected with the donor.
It must not be conditional on, or associated with, any arrangement involving the acquisition of property by the charity or approved body.
It applies to qualifying donations made to approved bodies like Cuan Mhuire
If you are a UK based donor you can Boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 donated.
Please ensure you read the following Gift Aid Statement before ticking the box for Cuan Mhuire to claim Gift Aid on any donation you may make:

Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.
