Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Lives

Our Five-Year Ambitions

We aim to help more people succeed in breaking free from the grip of addiction by enhancing and expanding our unique 12-week and 20-week detox and rehabilitation treatment programmes. Your philanthropic support will help us to:

Cuan Mhuire is the Nation’s Home for Recovery from Addiction.

We aim to provide the specialist staff required to deliver our unique programmes, and to train existing and new counsellors to help those seeking recovery. We also plan to invest in upgrades to provide the most appropriate settings to provide conducive environments for healing and recovery.

Cuan Mhuire provides almost half of all addiction treatment services and residential rehabilitation in Ireland. With its holistic approach, the organisation addresses the psychological, emotional, and social facets of addiction, operating across five treatment centres and seven transition houses across Ireland. We offer a variety of programmes from detoxification to residential treatment and aftercare services. We champion a therapeutic community approach, enhanced by individual counselling, family support services, and an emphasis on personal responsibility.

For over five decades, Cuan Mhuire has welcomed anyone seeking a new life away from addiction, which indiscriminately affects people from all walks of life. From 2015 to 2022, there was a 35% increase in individuals seeking treatment for drug and alcohol use, with 2023 marking an 11% surge in demand for Cuan Mhuire’s services. This growing need, amidst the backdrop of rising operating costs and the cost-of-living crisis, underscores the urgent need for increased fundraising efforts to sustain and expand our vital services. Sr Consilio’s core belief in the innate goodness and potential for change and healing in each person continues to guide our mission, reminding us of the transformative power of community and support in the journey to recovery.
