We accept referrals from many sources including Self, GP, Addiction Counsellor/Nurse, Social Worker, Hospital, Homeless Services, Probation Officer, etc.
You can refer yourself to Cuan Mhuire. You simply need to call the centre you wish to attend and we will start the assessment process and guide you from there.
A medical card does not cover the cost of treatment in Cuan Mhuire. However, if you hold a medical card you should bring it with you as it will cover you to see the Doctor as well as any prescribed medication you need.
Please ensure your medical card is current and valid. Expired medical cards will not be accepted.
In Cuan Mhuire we recognise the importance of wholly inclusive, equitable access to treatment for all. Therefore, we are committed to providing the best quality of care to everyone seeking help for their addiction(s) regardless of their background or ability to pay.
Cuan Mhuire offers a number of tailored payment options that are affordable to all. Your circumstances will be discussed with you and an appropriate weekly payment plan towards your treatment programme will be agreed prior to admission.
Residents in Cuan Mhuire are required to make the agreed payment each week during their programme.
Payment options vary depending on a person’s circumstances and include:-
- Private, Self-funding including social welfare recipients
- Private Health Insurance – Laya, Irish Life, AVIVA, VHI (Cuan Mhuire Bruree Only), Garda Medical Aid, ESB Staff Medical Provident Fund
- HSE Supported Funding – This is a matter between the person seeking treatment and their HSE Counsellor. Funding must be approved prior to admission.
For Alcohol and Gambling the Programmes are 12 weeks and for Drug Addiction it is 20 weeks.
In Cuan Mhuire we recognise the importance of speedy access to treatment and while we do our best to ensure this, it is inevitable that there will be some waiting time. The waiting time varies in each centre. We always endeavour to offer a bed to a person seeking help as quickly as possible.
